{"id":3806,"date":"2020-07-21T18:32:13","date_gmt":"2020-07-21T22:32:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ortn.edu\/highschool\/?p=3806"},"modified":"2020-07-21T18:32:13","modified_gmt":"2020-07-21T22:32:13","slug":"high-school-orientation-dates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ortn.edu\/highschool\/2020\/07\/21\/high-school-orientation-dates\/","title":{"rendered":"High School Orientation Dates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Student Orientation<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Freshman orientation and new 10<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 12<sup>th<\/sup> grade student orientation will be offered both in-person and virtually this year. Links to virtual orientation will be shared soon. For students attending in-person orientation, <strong>it is very important that students access their schedules in Skyward prior to orientation.<\/strong> Students can use the app or log in to their account and take a picture of their schedule so they will know where to go for 1<sup>st<\/sup> period. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the building to help students locate their classrooms. Teachers will be able to provide a paper copy of the schedule in their first period class, if necessary.<\/p>\n<p><em>Students must be in a mask in order to attend orientation<strong>.<\/strong> Students will be socially distanced in the assembly and will be expected to follow the guidelines outlined for them. Students are encouraged to arrive early for temperature scans.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>In-Person Orientation Times for Students<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Freshman Orientation<\/u> will be <strong>Monday, July 27th<\/strong>, from <strong>8:00 \u2013 11:35 a.m<\/strong>. Students should plan to enter through the main ORHS entrance by 7:45 a.m. for a temperature scan. They will then report to the auditorium (adjacent to the food court). All students in the class of 2024 are encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n<p><u>New 10<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 12<sup>th<\/sup> Grade Student Orientation<\/u> will be <strong>Monday, July 27th<\/strong>, from <strong>1:00 \u2013 2:00 p.m<\/strong>. This is specifically for students who are transferring to ORHS from another school. Students should plan to enter through the main ORHS entrance by 12:45 p.m. for a temperature scan. They will then report to the amphitheater (top of grand staircase to the right).<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Parent Orientation<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will be providing a virtual orientation for our parents. Links will be available soon.
