The library is going prehistoric this month with a DAILY DINO HUNT. We’re hiding mini-dinosaurs around the library every day. Find one? Keep it! They could be anywhere—on bookshelves, by the printers, on the new books cart… Start hunting!

Y-12 Credit Union Bill T. Hicks Scholarship is now open for the 2025–26 school year!

This scholarship rewards exceptional high school seniors who exemplify academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership. Six recipients from area high schools will each receive a $5,000 scholarship if selected. If you missed the Business Academy opening, you’ll get another chance to check out their car fresheners, athletic photo sessions, body oil and body butter, Dubai Chocolate, car detailing service, clip-on pencil sharpeners and lead holders, custom pins, bookmarks, jewelry, t-shirts, stickers, and artwork at the Business Expo on Saturday, November 15th at 6pm, right before the Masquers Showcase at 7pm. There are over 100 students who have worked hard to bring you great products and great entertainment that evening! Come enjoy a some of the best songs from 17 different Musicals performed in large and small groups as well as solos and duets from our incredibly talented students. And you can do some holiday shopping beforehand! Products and services are on sale now through December 5th. $5 Tickets to the Showcase are available at orhsmasquers.booktix.com and at the door. CLUB INFO

 

Interested in teamwork, competition, or stem? Then we have a deal for you! Our FIRST Robotics Competition team, 4265, The Secret City Wildbots is looking for new members. There are opportunities for those interested in any kind of engineering. Learn and apply skills in coding, design, mechanical fabrication, machining, business, animation, photography, videography and more. We currently meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 9pm in the automotive, aviation, and iSchool building. Come help us gear up for build season starting in January! New members will not be considered after Tuesday, November 25; so make sure to stop by or email Dr. Buckner at mabuckner@ortn.edu if you have any further questions, all grades and experience levels are welcome. Come check out the biggest learning opportunity and hardest fun you’ve ever had!

 

FCA will meet on FRIDAY morning, November 14th, at 7:00 AM!!  We will meet at Grace Baptist-Oak Ridge Campus (formerly Central Baptist) – directly across the street from the bus loop and arena at the high school.  Doors open and refreshments begin at 7:00, and a message will begin at approximately 7:10.  We will dismiss by 7:35.  All are welcome!!!  If you have any questions, contact Coach McKeethan (football/baseball coach).

 

Motorcycle club will meet this Thursday to complete parking space selection. If you’re interested in having a designated parking space for your bike join us during 3A in the bus loop lobby. We’ll be walking outside, so dress for the weather! See Ms Fairfax in LC210 if you have any questions.

 

The Oak Ridge Rocket Club is preparing to BLAST OFF! If you’re interested in joining us, please stop by Ms Fairfax’s room, LC210 to get sign up information. Future meetings are being planned now, so be sure to get involved and let us know when the best time for you is.

 

Are you ready to embark on epic quests and dive into the mystical realms of Dungeons and Dragons? Join us, the D&D Club, every Friday from 3:15 to 4:30 PM in the grand hall of imagination (AKA Dr. Denisar’s room CS329)!

 

SENIORS

 

Seniors: place your order for the cap, gown, and tassel set. Instructions for ordering are in the announcements in Canvas. The final date to place an on-time order is Monday, December 1. After this date, shipping will increase $20. If you have difficulty ordering the cap and gown set for any reason, the time to see Mrs. Ledden is before Thanksgiving break.

 

Seniors, your mandatory TN Promise meeting is scheduled in the ORHS auditorium at 2pm on 11/20/25.  If you are not able to attend, please check student square or the class of 2026 canvas page for detailed instructions.
