Merry 4th of July everybody! Today we’re deciding which is better- Christmas or 4th of July? Looking ahead to tomorrow, put your cowboy boots on or pull out your classiest pair of Khakis. We’re talking about Country vs. Country Club day! Make sure to take a picture and tag us on Instagram @orhs_stuco. Best outfits will get $10 gift cards!

Soccer Club of Oak Ridge needs lots of volunteers to help with a tournament on September 24th and 25th.  If you are interested, Mrs. Thompson sent the form to all student email addresses on Sunday, September 11th.  The form can also be found on your grade level Canvas pages!  Deadline to signup is September 15th.

Don’t let this anonymous quote be about you! Join us for motorcycle club tomorrow at lunch in the bus loop to help plan a year of learning how to be better, safer riders, how to take care of your bike and have fun with other cycle loving people. Bring your lunch and bike if you have one!

“The Driving Center of Oak Ridge” hosts driver education courses during holiday breaks.  Classes include 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.  Spots are limited.  Please register online at www.thedrivingcenter.org or call 865-482-6700 for info.  Remaining class dates for 2022 include: October 1-4, October 9-12, and December 17-20.

Have you ever been curious about the homes for the mentally ill? If so, or even if not, come watch “The Curious Savage” and experience a warm comedy comparing the kindness and loyalty of the patients inside The Cloisters with the greed and hostility of those on the outside. CLUB INFO

FBLA will meet after school on Tuesday, September 20, in CS347. Please bring $10 for dues to join. We will be discussing competition options.

Are you interested in showcasing yourself as a singer, musician, or dancer? Do you want to build your skills as you prepare to audition for The Masquers Spring Musical – The Lightning Thief? If so, join us on Monday, September 19th for an audition workshop in the auditorium after school. Ben Rorabaugh, Masquers Music Director, will lead you through the audition process and then separate you into groups to discuss your audition piece with an adult musical coach. COUNSELING INFO

It is College Rep Visit season and this week we have some exciting schools visiting campus! TODAY Notre Dame will be in the Lobby during lunch.  And Friday after school the University of Chicago will be in the Counseling Office. Don’t miss your opportunity to meet these representatives!

If you need help with Naviance or your college applications, you are invited to attend one of our help sessions. The help sessions will all take place in the ORHS Amphitheater. Please come to the Amphitheater to see a Counselor during one of the following times:

September 15th at 7:15am or 3:15pm

September 22nd at 7:15am

September 29th at 7:15am or 3:15pm.

All sessions are 30 minutes long.
