Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

 

STUDENT INFO

 

Students, are you involved in athletics outside of school? Do you play intermural sports at the Civic Center, do you practice a martial art, or do you take lessons in a sport the school does not offer? If so, please send a picture of you playing this sport or practicing it to rahale@ortn.edu for use in the Oak Log yearbook. We’d love to feature you and your talents! (1/5-1/7) – R. Hale

 

Winter Formal is coming up on February 12th! That means applications for Snow Court are now open. Snow Court consists of 1 boy and 1 girl per grade, and if you’re interested in being on our snow court, you can pick up an application from Mrs. Wagner in LC 331 starting January 5th. Applications are due back to Mrs. Wagner by January 28th. Students will vote through donations to their favorite candidates during lunch periods, and the members of the Court with the most donations will be crowned snow king and queen. All voting proceeds go directly to Second Harvest. (1/6-1/10) – A. Wagner

We have a virtual college visit with an admissions representative from Iowa Wesleyan University on Monday, January 10th at 11:05 am.  If you would like to participate, contact Ms. Campbell in the Counseling Office for the link. (1/6-1/10) – A. Campbell

 

CLUB INFORMATION

 

The FBLA Club will hold their next meeting on Tuesday January 11th at 7:15 a.m.  Breakfast snacks will be served in Room CS345. (1/6-1/10) – C. Stalliard

 

GSTA Will meet this Thursday and every Thursday in room CS 335 right after school. Note the change of day- meetings are now on Thursday’s. See you then! (1/4-6) – C. Milloway

 

The YuGi-Oh! Club will meet in Dr. Colquitt’s room, CS 235, on Fridays after school. Bring your cards and be ready to duel until 5pm. All ORHS students are welcome to attend! (1/6-1/7) – R. Colquitt

 

Join Philosophy Club after school on Friday in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for a discussion on the death penalty. (1/6-1/7) – A. Pickering

 

F.C.A., Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will meet tomorrow at 7:10 AM at Providence House across the street from the Wildcat Arena parking lot.  There will be Chick-fil-A biscuits, donuts, chocolate milk and an excellent Bible message brought this week by Logan Maddox from Calvary Baptist Church.  All who are interested in a Christian message before school on Friday are welcome.  – T.
