Reminder if you drive to school you must have an Oak Ridge High School 20-21 Car Tag hanging in on your rearview mirror.  You may pick up the Student Parking Applications in Student Services.  There is no parking for students in the Staff parking spaces. (Th,F) – C. Rhinehart

 

Young people who use e-cigarettes are 4x times more likely to start smoking tobacco cigarettes than their peers who don’t vape. Don’t become one of these statistics.  If you need support to quit using type any nicotine product call 1-800-QUIT-NOW.

 

The term 3 School Wide Student Council meeting will take place in the second period on Thursday February 25th for all representatives. Be sure to bring your class concerns and make your voices heard! (2/19-2/25) –A. Wagner

 

Our Spring AP exam payment collection will be from March 1 to March 5.  We will be set up in the food court during lunch to accept your payment.  During this time you will be able to pay off your remaining balance for any exam you have already ordered.  You will also be able to order an exam for the first time for any Spring semester AP course.  You will also be able to order an exam for any other AP course if you missed the order deadline in the Fall.  If you missed the Fall deadline, College Board will charge an additional $40 late fee for each exam.

Exams remain $95/exam.  If you are taking four or more exams, the fourth and subsequent exams are $40/exam.  Research and Seminar exams are $143 each.  If you are on free and reduced lunch status, exams are $15/exam.

Please make checks payable to Oak Ridge High School.  Please put the student name and the exam name(s) on the Memo line to ensure that the payment is applied correctly.

Oak Ridge High School Student Council presents Wildcats’ Got Talent! On February 26th, Oak Ridge’s virtual talent show will be livestreamed on STUCO’s YouTube channel and through the Wildcat Hangout Canvas page at 7:00 PM. Come virtually and support your multi-talented peers and MCs Jaxon Adams, Trent Howe, Blake Pinchback, and Vinny West. You’ll also get the opportunity to vote live on the People’s Choice Award. ATHLETIC INFORMATION

Congrats to the ORHS Girls and Boys Basketball District 3-AAA Championship teams.

 

Region tournament play begins this Friday night as the Lady Wildcats host the Lady Admirals from Farragut @ 7:00.   On Saturday evening, the Wildcats will host the West Rebels @ 7:00.  Tickets are $6.00 and doors will open @ 6:00.

 

 

 

COUNSELING INFORMATION

 

REMINDER:  The Anderson County Democratic Women’s Club is a $1000 scholarship this year. The scholarship is awarded yearly to a female student who plans to attend a local college or other institution.  If you would like to be considered for this scholarship, you will need to fill out the Local Scholarship Application (which can be picked up in the Counseling Office) and attach a 250 word essay on their connection, involvement, or feelings about the Democratic Party. The application and essay must be turned into the Counseling Office by February 26th.  (2/23-2/26) – A. Campbell
