Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Students:  please be reminded once you arrive on campus, you are not permitted to walk or drive off campus.  In addition, once you arrive in the parking lot, you are expected to come inside the building rather than hanging out in the parking lot.  Finally, if your parent drops you off, morning drop-off is in the Arena parking lot.  Parents should NOT pull into the bus loop prior to 7:30. The ASVAB Test will be administered @ Oak Ridge High School on Thursday, September 19, 2019 @ 8:00 a.m. in the Amphitheater. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program can help you take steps now toward finding a career that’s right for you. You can benefit from the Program whether you plan to pursue further education right after high school or enter the workforce right away. The program is designed to help you learn more about yourself and the world or work, explore occupations in line with your interests and skills, and develop an effective strategy to realize your career goals. Picture retakes for ALL grades, including seniors, will be Wednesday Sept. 11 from 10:30-3:30. Students may come to the auditorium during lunch or between classes or during guided studies to have their photos made. Photographers will also be available after school.  (W-F, M-T) – R. Byrd

CLUB INFO

Bonjour! French Club will meet on Monday, September 9th in Madame Barry’s room CS 307 from 3:15-3:45 to plan activities for the year! Merci! (W) – E. Barry

Would you like to help plan Prom 2020?  Come to the Prom Board interest meeting during 5th period in LC 313 on Thursday Sept 5th.  We will answer questions like what exactly is Prom Board and what do we do?  What are the responsibilities of a Prom Board member? When does Prom Board meet? and How do I join Prom Board? If you cannot make the meeting or are a returning Prom Board member stop by LC 313 to pick up a petition and have any questions answered. Remember all petitions must be turned in to Ms. Eidam no later than September 12th. (Th) – S. Eidam

Primary elections for the Homecoming Court will take place on Thursday, September 5^th. Seniors, please nominate one senior boy and one senior girl to be on this year’s Homecoming Court! The vote will be on Skyward and will be open from 7am to 4pm this Thursday.  (9/4-9/5) – A. Wagner

SENIOR INFO

Seniors: mark your calendars—Wednesday, September 11! The senior signing party for the 2020 senior signature shirt will be immediately after the senior class picture on Wednesday, September 11, in the Arena. In addition, Jostens will be handing out your packets to order graduation supplies. The first two order dates for graduation supplies will be September 17 and October 17. So on Wednesday, September 11—senior class picture, sign the board for the senior shirt, and get your graduation supplies packet! (9/3.4.6.9)  T. Ledden

Seniors: don’t forget to go register for our September 23^rd College Fair at www.gotocollegefairs.com. You will register as the student and create an account. You will have to look for the Tennessee College Fair dates that our 9/23 date falls within and once there, you can select our school. They have them grouped by weeks instead of by school this year. Once you register, print your bar code and bring it to the College Fair with you for the colleges to scan to get you into their database.  (W/Th) – K. Rowland
