Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

ACT Prep—If you signed up to take the ACT Math and Science Practice Tests, remember to show up in the Amphitheatre at 2:00 PM sharp on Wednesday, August 28, with two #2 pencils and an ACT approved calculator (like a TI-83 or TI-84). The Math Test will take 60 minutes, and the Science Test will take 35. Prepare to be finished at about 3:45 PM. Remember that we will analyze your results and go over questions on Wednesday, September 18, from 3:00-4:00 PM (8/27-8/28) – A. Etheridge

 

CLUB INFO

 

IRC will meet on Thursdays in LC 327 (former Combined Studies room), beginning at 3:10.  We need students who love to debate, analyze world events, and be a power boss from the UN to join us this year.

We are planning to compete in a UN competition in November this year in Chattanooga.   We will be requesting the Security Council members soon.  Countries will then be assigned.

Mrs. Bauman and Mr. Shaffer are excited to work with you and develop the strong skills needed to succeed in The World of the United Nations.  They are located in LC 318 and 317, if you want to stop by and ask questions. There are many opportunities for everyone to be a part of IRC on Thursday’s at 3: 10 – 4:00. (Th) – B. Bauman

 

Would you like to learn how to sew? Maybe you already know how to sew and want time to work on projects after school? Repairs, crafts, needlework – we can help you get started. Come to the Makerspace in the library on Thursday August 29th at 3:15 to learn more about this club. (M,T,W 8/28) N. Witick

Seniors, are you stressing about the College Application Process? Not sure how to use Naviance? Should you apply via Common Application or directly to the college? How do you request an official transcript and when will they be available? How do you request a letter of recommendation? All of these questions and more will be answered during SENIOR SEMINARS. Senior Seminars will take place for students during English classes on Tuesday, August 27th. (W,F – Aug) – B. Ottinger
