Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

It’s finally FOOTBALL time in OAK RIDGE.  Your Wildcats are hosting the Hardin Valley Hawks tonight, and there are just 72 steps that separate the team from victory.  Oak Ridge Pharmacy is sponsoring FREE tickets to the first 100 students to show up at the tailgate and cheer on the squad.  The Student Section theme is Cardinal and Grey.  Kickoff is at 7:30 (F) – P. ACT Prep—Remember that Monday, August 26, is the last day to sign up for a seat for Wednesday’s Math and Science Practice Tests. If you signed up, remember to show up at 2:00 PM sharp with two #2 pencils and an ACT approved calculator(like a TI-83 or TI-84). The Math Test will take 60 minutes, and the Science Test will take 35. Prepare to be finished at about 3:45 PM. Remember that we will analyze your results and go over questions on Wednesday, September 18. (Tu) – A. E. Etheridge

¡Hola! Are you interested in celebrating the language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world?! If so, join us for Spanish Club on Monday, August 26th at 3:15 in Señora Golden’s room (CS 300) for our first meeting!  Thiswill be our interest meeting, so we will finish by 3:45.  All students are welcome!  ¡Hasta lunes! COUNSELING INFO

 

Seniors, are you stressing about the College Application Process? Not sure how to use Naviance? Should you apply via Common Application or directly to the college? How do you request an official transcript and when will they be available? How do you request a letter of recommendation? All of these questions and more will be answered during SENIOR SEMINARS. Senior Seminars will take place for students during English classes on Tuesday, August 27th. (W,F – Aug) – B. Ottinger

 

Recruiters from the US Marine Corps will be in the cafeteria at lunch on Monday, August 26th.  (8/22-8/23, 8/26) – A. Campbell

ORHS has extended PSAT Registration to give every interested student an opportunity to test. Students must stop by the Counseling Office to complete a registration form and pay the test fee. We are ONLY able to accept checks or EXACT change. The cost is $17. Checks should be made out to ORHS and list student name and PSAT in the memo field. We will only be accepting registration until 3:15 on Monday, August 26th. No registration will be accepted after that time. (M) – B. Ottinger
