Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

OPEN HOUSE is THIS Thursday, August 8.  Spread the word.  Come check out all the activities and clubs available at ORHS beginning @ 5:30 in the Food Court then take your parents to visit with your teachers. (M, W, Th)  Administration

Want to learn a little something and improve your test scores while also having fun with your friends?  Come by the library every day to check out the ACT question of the day.  (W) – C. Milloway

 

What are my plans after high school? What is college campus life like? How do I know which college to attend? If you want to explore the opportunities you’ll have after high school, come to the Small Talk Club. We explore life beyond high school graduation and help you answer questions like these. The ORHS Gay STraight Trans Alliance is a safe and fun place for everyone – all identities, all orientations! Come find out about Diversity Prom, Youth Pridefest and all the other amazing activities we do this Thursdayafter school in Ms. Adler’s room LC106 until 4pm  (W-Th) – B. Adler

Do you want to make a difference in your community? Join the ASAP ambassadors club to help promote a drug free lifestyle ! First meeting is August 13- right after school until around 4 in the  counseling office. (W,Th,M) – A. King

Youth for Christ is an ORHS club that provides an opportunity for Bible study and Christian fellowship for students during fifth-period lunch on Wednesdays. Come to Mr. Senter’s room, LC330, and bring your lunch starting this week!  (W) – K. Senter

 

Do you like science? Do you like fast-paced competition? If so, join Science Bowl for a fun and challenging atmosphere to test your buzzer skills.  We meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in room LC110. We look forward to seeing you there! (W) – S. Thomas

SENIORS: The deadline is next Friday, August 16th for the  Saturday, September 14th ACT test.

You must go to  www.actstudent.org to create an account for the Saturday national test dates (if you’ve never taken the test on one of the national test dates). If you qualified for accommodations last year, please let Mrs. Rowland know BEFORE August 16th torequest those for you again.

As a reminder, taking the ACT is a graduation requirement in the state of Tennessee. If you did not take it last year and/or are a new transfer senior from out of state, you will need to take the ACT prior to graduation.
