Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Students taking AP exams:  please plan to attend one of the 4 mandatory pre-administration sessions next week to fill out all of the paperwork for your exams.  We will meet in the amphitheater Wednesday, April 17th and Thursday, April 18th during lunch and after school. We will also be collecting payments on any outstanding balances.  (4/12-4/16) – A. It’s time to plan for the Senior Art show. There is a mandatory meeting on Monday April 15 in room VA 102 to plan for this year’s Senior art show. Be there by 3:10.  Meeting will only last approximately 30 min. See Ms. Wakefield if you have conflicts.  (4/12-4/15) – A. Wakefield

 

Any Junior who is interested in serving on the Class of 2020 Senior Steering committee needs to pick up an application from Ms. Hondorf or Ms. Sobek this week.  Applications are due on Thursday.  Senior Steering is a group of 20 students who work with the class officers to plan and organize senior class activities. Come be  a part of the award winning ORHS Color Guard and perform with the WildBand at football games and competitions.  No experience necessary. All students in grades 9-12 are welcome. Performing Arts and Wellness C credits are earned for this audition only class. Clinic begins Tuesday, April 16th, at 4:00 pm in the Band Room. (4/15-4/16) – M. Hughey

 

Is your life not turning out like the Brady Bunch? Get back some of that academic joy with free NHS tutoring from Ethan Brady and David Joy on Tuesday from 3:15 to 3:50 in the Counselling Center. (4/15-4/16) – K. Senter

 

 

PROM INFO

 

If your date is not a current ORHS student you must complete a Guest Application form found in Student Affairs or with Ms. Eidam in LC 313.  All forms must be completed and turned in with a copy of the guest’s ID to Student Services by April 24th.

 

 

 

CLUB INFO

 

ASAP Youth Ambassadors are having an informational meeting on Tuesday, April 16th after school in the College Room of the counseling office.  There will be Pizza and treats for those who attend and find out more about the program! (Th, M, Tu) – 4.16

 

Teens For Contact will meet in the college and career room, Monday, April 15 until 4pm!  (4/15) – A. King

SENIOR INFO

 

Attention Seniors! There is a paid summer internship at UT.  This runs from 8am-1pm for 4 weeks in June.  There you will learn about STEM teaching and get a chance to teach and learn under guidance of UT faculty members.  This is open to all graduating seniors who plan to enroll in a Community College next fall.  For more information, please contact Dr. Lynn Hodge at thodge4@utk.edu.

 

Student Council is offering a $2000 scholarship to a senior in the class of 2019. Applicants should have made a positive impact on their community, shown exceptional leadership, and contributed to the student body in their four years at ORHS!
