Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Please do not park on the yellow lined “field” on the food court/front of school parking lot. It is located on the side closest to the turnpike. This is the WildBand practice field on campus. Thanks!  – M. Hughey (Tu,Th)

 

Boy’s Soccer will have an interest meeting and open play on Friday beginning at 4 pm in the locker room. (F) – T. Gorman

 

A reminder to those taking the ACT here on Saturday, there is now a 5th test that all those testing take except for those with accommodations. Plus Writing students take all five tests AND the plus writing portion so they will not be finished until 1:30. This 5th test is now a part of every Saturday test and ACT added the fifth test this year. (F) – K. Rowland

 

There will be no evening math tutoring tonight in Mr. Froning’s classroom due to the home football game. (Th) – T. Froning

Attention Juniors!!!!

DO YOU HAVE ANY ZEROs???  Mrs. Thompson has asked teachers for names of  Juniors who have zeros.  You will be given After School Detention on Thursdays for failure to complete work as assigned.  This is an encouragement to take care of these zeros immediately.  Mrs. Thompson will start calling down her Thursday guests on Wednesday!  Skipping after school detention will result in an ISS on Friday.     Take care of business today!  (10/23-10/25) – S. CLUB INFO

 

Sewing club would like to invite new members to check out our plans for a holiday craft activity.  Stop by Tuesday right after school in the Library Makerspace.Beginners and all levels of experience are welcome. Questions:  Mrs. Witick or Dr. Pickel  (M, Th, Fr)

 

Philosophy Club returns this Friday after school in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for a discussion on political philosophy. Everyone is welcome!  (F) – A. Pickering

 

There will be no Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting on Friday morning due to the home football game on Thursday, as FCA members plan to be celebrating a region football championship until late Thursday night.  Lee Younger will be providing the message on next Friday, the 2nd of November, though.  Everyone is welcome for Chick-fil-A, Donut Palace, fellowship, and a great message at 7:00 on Friday mornings. COUNSELING INFO

 

The 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards application is now available online. If you have had extensive volunteer hours and would like to apply, go to spirit.prudential.com or nassp.org/spirit. State winners receive $1,000 and national winners receive $5,000 for their school and another $5,000 for a non-proift charitable organization of their choice. You must complete the application by Tuesday, November 6th. Oak Ridge HS can select one school recipient to forward onto the state competition. The state winners move on to the national competition.
