Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Craving something sweet? Come find one of our senior steering members around school or in the main lobby and the bus loop in between classes. They will be selling a large variety of your favorite candy ranging from Hershey bars to gummy worms, all for $1.50 each. Come satisfy your sweet tooth before sales are over. (M,W,F 11/1-11/13) – E. Students: Jostens will return to accept class ring orders on Wednesday, November 15, during lunch in the Main Lobby and the Concessions’ Kiosk. Extra class ring packets are available in CS347. A$50 deposit is required. (11/8, 11/10, 11/13) – T. Ledden

Hello everybody! The next GAPP meeting is coming up on November 20th at 6 pm in the Amphitheater.The German American Partnership Program exchange will travel to Germany next June and spend 3 weeks there. We will also have the opportunity to host German exchange students here at ORHS in the spring. Please come to room CS304 and get on the list to host a student in the spring. For more information please contact either Sabine Nebenfuehr (smnebenfuehr@ortn.edu) or Dave Kolodney (dmkolodney@ortn.edu).

Here at midterm NHS is sending in reinforcements to provide free tutoring from 3:15-3:50 in the Counselling Center on Tuesday. You’ll find THREE helpful scholars:  Radha Awasthi, Reagan Dickens, and Reid Dukes. (11/13-11/14) – K. Senter

Do you like money and fame? Do you like to write poetry? Enter the Branching Out poetry contest! You can submit up to three poems before 1:50 on Wednesday, November 29. There are two categories, Freshman-Sophomore and Junior-Senior; in each category, the first place winner will receive $25, second place will receive $15, and third place will receive $10. Wow! It got cold out there! But, is it as cold as it is in Norway? You have an opportunity to find out! This year we will be traveling with students to Scandinavia in October, 2018!  We will be hosting a mandatory informational meeting for parents and students to come and learn more about the opportunity on Sunday, November 19th at 3:00 PM at Oak Ridge High School in the Amphitheater. Space on the tour is limited and seats will be filled on a first come first serve basis, so we do hope you and your child will be able to join us at the upcoming meeting to learn more about this opportunity. CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

The Ski Club is meeting after school tomorrow in LC217, Ms. Sobek’s room.  If you want to go on a trip with the High School this year – then you should be at this meeting.  We will discuss logistics and money.  See Ms. Sobek or Ms. Stevens if you want to join but can’t make the meeting.  Again that is Ski club, after school tomorrow.
