Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

The PSAT test will be on Wednesday, October 25th.  Testing room rosters will be posted outside of the counseling office, outside of the library and by the bus loop on Tuesday. This test is only for 10th and 11th graders that registered to take the PSAT. (10/20-10/24) – B. Ottinger

A new water bottle filling station was installed over fall break and is located on the third floor in the English class section.  This was the class of 2016’s gift to the school.  If you know anyone that graduated last year please thank them. (10/20) – D. Sobek

COUNSELING INFO

Calling ALL students involved in Community Service!! The deadline to apply for the 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards is Tuesday, November 7,2017. Each school winner is then forwarded on to the state level. The state level winner receives $1,000 and a trip to Washington, D.C. in late April. More money could be awarded at the national level. CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

The YuGi-Oh! Club will meet on Friday, October 20, after school in Dr. Colquitt’s room, CS 235. Bring your cards and be ready to duel until 5 pm! All students are welcome to participate! (10/20) – R. Colquitt

Three will be a mandatory meeting of Math Club immediately after school on Friday in CS231.  Please plan on attending…we are trying to finalize counts and assignments for the State Math Convention on Nov. 3rd and 4th.  If you cannot attend, please let Mrs. Mullins or Dr. Vaughan know before Friday afternoon. We will be practicing for Math Bowl and setting up some other contest teams, so come and practice with us! (10/19-10/20) – K. Mullins

Small Talk will meet on Monday, October 23 and Thursday, October 26 after school until 3:45. Both meetings will be the same, so feel free to attend either one that fits into your schedule. If you plan to attend, please stop by Dr. Colquitt’s room, CS 235, prior to Monday’s meeting, to give her an email account that you would normally check. SENIOR INFO

Those seniors with a 3.6 cumulative GPA who would like to be considered for membership in National Honor Society must pick up a Verification of Interest form from Mrs. Milloway in the Library. Seniors applying to UT-Chattanooga- save money on the application fee by attending UTC’s Moc Minute on Tuesday night, October 17th at Calhoun’s on the River in Knoxville from 4:30-7:30! Light refreshments and give aways are included! You must complete their application  prior to attending this event but DO NOT PAY THE FEE!! Hit “submit” without paying the fee.
