Rhyannon Karney won the Tennessee Award for Aspirations in Computing by the National Center for Women and Technology. The award honors young women at the high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. Awardees were selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education. She was honored at a banquet Tennessee Technical University on April 22nd. She plans on attending Tennessee Tech and majoring in computer science and cyber security. The award will provide her with a scholarship of $2,500 a year for four years.
