ORHS Class of 1981 – 40 Year Reunion
August 26-28, 2022 (Postponed from October 2021 due to Covid)
Friday August 26, 2022:
Tentative Tour of ORHS at the new entrance on the Turnpike (across from the Civic Center) time TBD (probably 5pm). Please arrive 15 minutes early as the tour will begin promptly at TBD. RSVP needed.
Social gathering: 5:00pm until closing~Oakey’s Sports Grill 119 S Illinois Ave, Oak Ridge, TN. The private room has been reserved for classmates. There is a large area in front of the stage as well large bar, and large patio with awnings. Oakey’s Sports Grill will have a live band playing at 8pm and walking distance a few blocks to the Doubletree by Hilton host hotel.
Saturday August 27, 2022:
Lunch at noon in the lounge at Calhoun’s 100 Melton Lake Peninsula, Oak Ridge, TN (aka the marina). The Lounge can accommodate seating of 50+ and will be easier for classmates to visit and not disturb others in the main the dining room. There is a nice view of the waterfront and some seating outside if weather permits
The main event will be the semi-formal dinner and dance Saturday evening August 27, 2022 at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel 215 S. Illinois Ave, Oak Ridge, TN in the Ballroom from 6:00pm to midnight. Music will be DJ Gann Entertainment and catering by the Doubletree with Cash Bar in the main Ballroom. Classmates will be responsible for Cash Bar drinks.
The dinner will be Italian Buffet with Caesar Salad with Freshly Shaved Parmesan and Herb Croutons and Fresh Garden Salad with Ranch and Balsamic Dressings, Antipasto Salad Display, Grilled Sliced Chicken Breast, Italian Sweet Sausage with Tri-Color Peppers, Marinara Sauce, Meat Sauce, Alfredo Sauce, Pesto Sauce, Penne Pasta, Linguine, Italian Spinach, Italian Garlic Bread Sticks, Desserts Tiramisu, Chef’s Assorted Gourmet Desserts, and beverages Iced Tea, Coffee, and Water.
The cost for the Saturday night event will be $60 per person. RSVP needed by August 19, 2022 for catering order but can continue to add classmates up to the morning of the Saturday night dinner and dance.
Sunday August 28, 2022:
Breakfast at Burchfield’s at the Doubletree, which is come at your leisure. Classmates will be able to order from the menus at Oakey’s Sports Grill, Calhoun’s, and Burchfield’s. Classmates will be responsible for their food and beverages for these social gatherings.

The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel has a block of rooms Friday and Saturday night at a group rate of $129.00 group code C81. They have prepared a one click link to reservations. The deadline for reservations at the group rate is August 5, 2022, which cancellations must be made 3 days prior to August 26th to avoid charges.
