Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

The ASVAB Test will be administered @ Oak Ridge High School on Thursday, September 21, 2017 @ 8:00 a.m. in the Amphitheater.  The ASVAB Career Exploration Program can help you take steps now toward finding a career that’s right for you. You can benefit from the Program whether you plan to pursue further education right after high school or enter the workforce right away. The program is designed to help you:  learn more about yourself and the world or work, explore occupations in line with your interests and skills, and develop an effective strategy to realize your career goals.  .  Students must sign up in Student Services by Friday, Sept. 15th. Did you ever let your mind wander in class and start wondering what your teacher looked like as a kid?  Well wonder no more!  Check out the display outside the library for some pics of your teachers when they were kids and their favorite books!  Want another reason to check it out? It’s also a contest!  Stop by the library to pick up a form so you can guess who the picture belongs to.  Prizes will be awarded to the person with the highest number of correct guesses.  But get there quickly – winners will be chosen at the end of the day on Friday, September 15th. The Driving Center is again offering two Driver Education classes over Fall Intersession.  First class starts Oct. 2nd and the second Oct 9th.  All classes meet from 8:00am till 3:30 pm Monday thru Thursday.

Choose the class that fits your schedule. Testing can be administered here at The Driving Center.  A permit is not required to complete the 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training.  Please call (865) 482-6700 for more information or to enroll. (T, Th 9/28) – T. Seals

COUNSELING INFO

An Admissions Representative from Emory University will be meeting with students in the Counseling Office today during 5A & 5B. Please plan to attend if you are interested in learning more about Emory University.  (9/12) – A. Morris

The National Youth Science Camp is a residential science education program for young STEM enthusiasts the summer after they graduate from high school. Students from around the country (two are selected to represent each state and Washington, D.C.) are challenged academically in exciting lectures and hands-on studies, and have voluntary opportunities to participate in an outdoor adventure program, gain a new and deep appreciation for the great outdoors, and establish friendships that last a lifetime. An Admissions Representative from Agnes Scott College will be meeting with students in the Counseling Office after school on Friday, September 15th. CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

The Interact Club is looking for junior students who want to improve their leadership skills!  There is an all day conference September 23 that we would love for you to attend!  If you’re interested, please see Mrs. King in the counseling office. (9/8, 9/11-12) – A. King
