Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Attention 9th & 10th Grade students: This is SUPER IMPORTANT! This is Computer Collection Week.  Computers will be turned into the Media Center during your Guided Studies on Wednesday and Thursday depending on the assignment.  You MUST bring your computer; both pieces of the adapter, the computer case AND THE STRAP.  If you are missing any of these components, a bill will be prepared and sent home immediately. Students should report directly to the Library Classroom Door (LC229) rather than going to their classroom.  Students will clean their computers and then go to the appropriate line to turn in the device.   Students who do NOT have a Guided Study will turn the device in through Lunch Study Hall.  Students with the last names beginning with A – M will be expected to turn in their device on Wednesday.  Students with the last names beginning with N – Z will be expected to turn in their device on Thursday. Students with NO Lunch Study Hall or Guided Study, can obtain a pass during  class or come during lunch on THURSDAY.   If you are absent on Wednesday, please make arrangements with a teacher to come on Thursday.  ALL DEVICES MUST BE TURNED IN BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON! THIS IS IT!  The final week of the free tutoring service provided by NHS.  See Ryan Armstrong and Wilson Huang on Tuesday and Elizabeth Bradshaw and Danyel Henley on Thursday from 3:15-3:50. (5/22, 5/23, 5/25) – L. Bailey

All calculators that have been rented from the math department will be collected on Wednesday, May 31st during your math class.  If you have any questions, check with your math teacher.  Calculator costs are $125.00 if not returned. Any seniors who still have not turned theirs in will need to do so or pay for them before graduation. (5/22-5/31) – J. Zimprich

Students who have been assisting with the ELLF Volunteer program at Willowbrook Elementary School will be having a special celebration on June 1st from 3:15 until 4:45. You need to see Mrs. Ferguson in CS 301 before noon on Friday to confirm if you plan to attend and help with the celebration. (5/4-5/25) – L. Ferguson

Please check lost and found if you have lost any items the quarter.  We will be donating it on June 6th. Any students wanting to obtain their learners permit over the summer please stop by Attendance and fill out the brown form in order for it to get the SF10-10 for that you will need from the school.  The form will be good all summer until we return on July 31st. There are only 20 yearbooks left for sale.  Get yours before they are gone, seniors!  Come to Ms. Byrd’s room, CS 328, to purchase one before school or during lunch.  They are still $75. (5/24-5/25) – R. Byrd

 

SENIOR INFO

Seniors who choose to participate in the commencement exercises must wear the traditional cap and gown. The gown is to be worn over the appropriate apparel such as dresses, dress pants (long pants, not shorts), and dress shirt/tie or collared shirt. Dress shoes are also required. If you do not have the appropriate attire for graduation, please see Ms. Estep prior to May 26th (seniors last day) for assistance. If a student is not dressed in appropriate attire, he or she will not participate in the commencement exercises. In addition, students will not be allowed to participate in graduation if they have decorated their mortar boards. (5/19-5/26) – B. Estep

Attention Seniors! This Friday we will be celebrating the places you will go with a travel theme.  We encourage all seniors to dress in some way that represents where you will go after you graduate high school.  Meet in the food court at 7:50 to commemorate our last day of senior year starting with a breakfast, come hungry! GraduationCelebration is a FREE, safe, fun, all-night party for Oak Ridge graduates at the Oak Ridge Civic Center, June 1st. We have food from every restaurant in town, lots of fun games, SCUBA in the pool, and $13K in prizes all night long! All students who graduate that night are invited to attend. Final transcripts will not be ready to be sent until the week of June 19th. Seniors must complete the Final Transcript Request Form and turn it in to their Counselor in Guidance if they want their final transcript sent to a college, university or technical school. (5/12-5/16) – P. Moye
