Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

Please note that until further notice the top level of the food court will be closed during lunch periods.  It is expected that all students clean up after themselves when eating in the food court by throwing out all their trash in the provided receptacles.  Unfortunately this has not been the case and until this improves and students can prove that they can responsibly keep the food court clean, the top level will remain closed. FREE SPORTS PHYSICALS – ORHS students have the opportunity to get a FREE sports physical. This event takes place this SUNDAY, May 7 in the Wildcat Arena from 1:00 – 3:00.  All students who are planning on participating in ANY ORHS athletic team, MUST have a CURRENT (dated after 4/15/17) to be able to participate in the program. The Sports Information and Permission forms must now be completed online – Don’t miss this great opportunity    https://form.jotform.us/61188316898167

Due to AP testing taking place in our building for the remainder of this week and next, we will need to disable the bells at certain times of the day on certain days.  This is due to language and music tests being administered at those times requiring students to listen to recordings and respond.  Below is the list of times we will not be ringing dismissal bells:

Friday, May 5 all morning until 12:27 p.m.

Monday, May 8^th:  All morning until 12:27 p.m. to begin 6^th period.

Tuesday, May 9^th: Noon through dismissal. (There will not be a bell at 3:06 p.m.)

Current sophomores and juniors taking a dual enrollment course next year through Roane State, you must have a 19 on your ACT in English and math. They will also accept your current PSAT score which needs to be a 980 or above for admissions purposes. If you need to take the ACT, this Friday, May 5th is the regular registration deadline without paying a late penalty for late registration. Go to www.actstudent.org to register for the ACT. (F) – K. Masquers would like to announce the Oak Ridge Playhouse is holding a week-long summer theater camp for students from 3rd through 12th grade, Monday to Friday June 12-16. This Friday, May 5th is the deadline to register for the June 10^th ACT (the last ACT for this academic school year). Juniors who have not taken an ACT in this school year should register for this test or they will also miss out on the FREE Senior Re-Take test next October. See Mrs. Rowland in the counseling office for your voucher to pay for the ACT if you did not take the state ACT on April 19th. If you have already registered for this test and have not yet uploaded your photo to your account, please do so now. (W) – K. Rowland

THIS WEEK – ORHS ATHLETICS

All 2017 Track and Field Athletes who are not competing in the Sectional must return hoodies, warmup pants, and uniforms to Coach Etheridge in LC337 by Tuesday, May 9. Please wash them before you return them.  AE
