Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Please note that until further notice the top level of the food court will be closed during lunch periods.  It is expected that all students clean up after themselves when eating in the food court by throwing out all their trash in the provided receptacles.  Unfortunately this has not been the case and until this improves and students can prove that they can responsibly keep the food court clean, the top level will remain closed.  FREE SPORTS PHYSICALS – ORHS students have the opportunity to get a FREE sports physical. This event takes place this SUNDAY, May 7 in the Wildcat Arena from 1:00 – 3:00.  All students who are planning on participating in ANY ORHS athletic team, MUST have a CURRENT (dated after 4/15/17) to be able to participate in the program. This Friday, May 5th is the deadline to register for the June 10^th ACT (the last ACT for this academic school year). Juniors who have not taken an ACT in this school year should register for this test or they will also miss out on the FREE Senior Re-Take test next October. See Mrs. Rowland in the counseling office for your voucher to pay for the ACT if you did not take the state ACT on April 19th. If you have already registered for this test and have not yet uploaded your photo to your account, please do so now. (W) – K. Rowland

Attention AP testers: Please be sure to bring a blue or black ball point pen, a couple #2 pencils, a calculator if your test permits it, and your ORHS badge to each test you are taking. You must present photo id to test. Don’t forget to arrive 30 minutes before testing time and leave your cell phones and/or smart watches in your car or at home. Are you a current Junior that would like to be nominated as a Wofford Scholar? Wofford announces their 69th annual Wofford Scholars Program. Qualified candidates are eligible to compete for scholarships ranging from $3,000 per year up to full scholarship, which is valued at approximately $45,000 per year. SENIORS – please remember to pay your food service bill in full by May 19. If you have a credit on your account please feel free to purchase items or you can request a refund. (Forms are available from the Food Service area). Congratulations to each of you on your upcoming graduation. It has been our honor to be your food service provider. Seniors of the Class of 2017…..   Participate in the competition to design the cover of the Convocation Program this year.  See Mrs. Bauman or Ms. Barry to see past designs.  $50 grand prize for the winner, plus bragging rights.  Deadline is Friday, May  5^th. (5/3-4) – B. Bauman

THIS WEEK – ORHS ATHLETICS

All 2017 Track and Field Athletes who are not competing in the Sectional must return hoodies, warmup pants, and uniforms to Coach Etheridge in LC337 by Tuesday, May 9. Please wash them before you return them.  AE
