WELCOME TO TESTING WEEK! ! !

Wednesday, April 19th is a busy day at ORHS with lots of testing and senior activities. Faculty and students please wear your favorite college attire on Wednesday to represent your alma mater, school you plan to attend, or college of interest. Let’s see what schools you think are cool! The Oak Ridge Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, INC. is offering Scholarships to eligible, African American females that have been accepted to one or more accredited colleges/universities. Stop by the Counseling Office for more information and to pick up and application packet. Completed applications must be postmarked by April 30th. (4/4-4/28 T/Th) – A. Morris

The Youth Advisory Board is accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Term of Office commencing on August 1st, 2017.  Participation on the City of Oak Ridge YAB requires attendance at bi-monthly meetings on Wednesday afternoons and also at special events throughout the year.  All interested students are encouraged to pick up an application in the Guidance Offices at JMS and RMS, the Student Affairs Office at ORHS, or at the Front Desk of the Civic Center.  Application requirements include being an Oak Ridge resident and a student that is entering 8th-12th grade.  Applications must be submitted to the Civic Center by May 19, 2017.  For any further questions, please contact Matt Reedy at 425-3450. SENIOR INFO

Attention Seniors:   Senior Convention is this Wednesday, April 19th.  Be sure to report directly to the auditorium by 7:50 am that day.  You will receive your convention schedule when you arrive.  In preparation for the day, be sure to download the Canvas App on your phone if you don’t already have it.  Also, know your social security number and have your photo id if you would like to register to vote that morning. Willow Brook  school would like to invite our former Willow Brook bears for a Senior Walk on Wednesday, May 31st at 9:00 AM. Come and walk through the halls in your cap and gown as you are cheered on by students and former teachers. Visit the classrooms of those teachers, and then stay for a short reception at 10:00 in your honor. Please help us celebrate your accomplishments, as well as inspire current Willow Brook bears to strive for excellence. Please arrive by 8:45 AM. Seniors: Each year, members of the Senior Class speak at Convocation and Commencement. Tryouts for these Senior Speeches are held on one day.  Make-ups are not available. This year, tryouts will be held on Thursday, April 20, at 3:15 in CS336. If you think you may be interested in trying out, see Ms. Sasser in CS336 for additional information. CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

Only 7 weeks remain in the school year! NHS tutors continue to provide this free service through May 25th. This week’s tutors are Stevie Logan and Marina Vlasyuk on Tuesday and Marie Gubanc and Michael Ma on Thursday from 3:15-3:50 in the Counseling Center. (4/20) – L. Bailey
