If you’re a rising junior or senior and have wondered what college is line in New York City, NYU Precollege is your chance to find out. Precollege offers high school students the opportunity to experience NYU by spending six weeks living and learning in their community. Thanks for those who have participated in the Black History trivia questions! The answer to yesterday’s question is: Willie Golden was the first African-American captain of ORHS basketball team and the first to be elected captain of an integrated high school team in Tennessee and one of the first to play in the TSSAA Basketball tournament. He currently resides in Oak Ridge. Today’s question is: . What African American Poet, writer, and educator from Oak Ridge and graduate of ORHS wrote several books, such as “Holy Ghost” and “Guerilla Warfare”? Write your answer, along with your name, on a piece of paper and give it to Dr. Colquitt in CS 235 by the end of 5th period today. Seniors: There are some extra senior signature t-shirts (both long and short-sleeved) and sweatshirts (both regular and hooded) available for sale. If you did not get to order a senior signature item and would like to purchase one, please see Ms. Ledden in CS347. You may e-mail tledden@ortn.edu to ask about a specific size, style, or color.
