What’s the number one rule of blind dates? Don’t judge a book by its cover! Well that’s more true than ever during Blind Date with a Book month here at ORHS. Stop by the library to find some books wrapped up in paper that are great on the inside, regardless of what’s on the outside. (2/8) – C. Milloway

Thanks for those who are participating in the Black History Trivia Question challenge. All students who have participated will receive a special gift on Friday. The answer to yesterday’s question is: Mrs. Arizona Officer was the first African American principal in Oak Ridge. She was principal at Scarboro School in 1955. Today’s question is: Who was the first African-American captain of an ORHS basketball team, the first to be elected captain of an integrated high school team in Tennessee, and one of the first to play in the TSSAA Basketball tournament? Write your answer, along with your name, on a piece of paper and give it to Dr. Colquitt in CS 235 by the end of 5th period today. (2.8) – R. Colquitt
